Givenchy Spring 2011 Haute Couture

Suzy Menkes, a fashion journalist for the NYTimes, called this collection "works of art", also adding that "the sense of the body skimming lightness would be quite beautiful on anyone rich enough and thin enough to order a dress." as of recent news, Asia was put on the fashion forefront of the world region -- China, especially -- for "redefining traditional concepts of beauty". with a cast of all Asian models, it feels a little gimmicky but this isn't the first time we've all felt this way. there have been all-Black fashion shows and magazines, so now it seems appropriate to have an all-Asian fashion show. being an Asian myself, i'm not offended but rather proud. no one ever said the Asian race was ugly, but i suppose it's due time to recognize our beauty.
