spring me

it's not warm enough to wear silk so openly without the need to layer, but damn it! i don't know how much longer i can wait. the sheer and twisted leggings are definitely going on my TO-BUY list. definitely. check out the rest of the collection at the site: Stylein. they provide a more "active" view for each item. i quite like it.

potential looks for Spring... which one will you embrace? hmmm, can't pick one? try 'em all!

the aviation inspiration

Restoration Hardware has a furniture collection inspired from the "Golden Age" that is particularly interesting, but not at first glance. these made-for-speed designs are made out of aluminum and steel, complimented by antiqued whiskey leather. i can't imagine having these in my home, but it would make any bachelor pad or "man cave" distinguished.

Men's Christian Lacroix Fall 2011

this is acceptable for those who aren't ready to trade skinny and straight-legged pants for wide and loose-fitted trousers. no worries, boys, you aren't all left behind.

Givenchy Spring 2011 Haute Couture

Suzy Menkes, a fashion journalist for the NYTimes, called this collection "works of art", also adding that "the sense of the body skimming lightness would be quite beautiful on anyone rich enough and thin enough to order a dress." as of recent news, Asia was put on the fashion forefront of the world region -- China, especially -- for "redefining traditional concepts of beauty". with a cast of all Asian models, it feels a little gimmicky but this isn't the first time we've all felt this way. there have been all-Black fashion shows and magazines, so now it seems appropriate to have an all-Asian fashion show. being an Asian myself, i'm not offended but rather proud. no one ever said the Asian race was ugly, but i suppose it's due time to recognize our beauty.

take me back to falling leaves and chilled sunnies

it's 50 degrees outside; still cold. all i'm dreaming about are sandals and endless days of blinding heat. but the following photos convince me enough to wish for Fall. *sigh... i'm hopeless.
