matte and moisturized...?

i need this.

especially more-so because the wind chill in the PNW is crazy cold!
my poor lips can't stay moisturized.
i hope this is the cure.

btw...
it's seen all over Fall 2010's runways
so why not?

Burberry in color!

for holiday, Burberry has some fun colors out in accessories and things... i am especially loving the umbrellas. i have this odd fascination over umbrellas. umbrellas can either be very boring (basic black or navy) or extremely cool (blue skies and see-through). anything in between is tacky and you'll get sick of it after the first several uses. trust me... there's a black polka dotted red umbrella i bought years ago thinking it was cute because it looked like a lady bug, but after several uses i got tired of it and now i use my very boring london fog navy umbrella. and it's rather large for just one person, really... umbrellas can be so tiresome.

Taylor Swift is blonde-r

country's good girl straightened her locks
and went for a lighter blonde at last night's AMA.
this is all nice and new but ZZZZZZZZZZZ!
are you as bored as i am?
i think she should go platinum.
cause she's already got the other platinum down.
yee-haw.

h&m looks 'good'

i am weary of h&m and its quality of clothing and accessories. its collaboration with Lanvin (Alber Elbaz) has lots of hype. i've seen other collaboration collections with other designers and design houses, and all but one have disappointed me. so even though everyone's lips are buzzing praises of h&m's new collabo collection, i'm going to be one of those who will say otherwise.

photos are deceiving. h&m never looks this good. but Frida Gustavvson is damn gorgeous.

working girl, via the seventies

i am really digging this seventies vibe. there's something really sexy about high-class seventies silhouettes that this modern era no longer embodies. the seventies was the decade of Charlie's Angels, feathered hair, discos, and mass sex appeal. everything had curves. i love it.

'Girl'

...psst.

Band of Outsiders' Scott Sternberg finally launched the new lower-priced womenswear collection called Girl. It's supposed to be a collection with items you won't find in Boy (the menswear collection). Does this mean boys won't steal from the girls anymore? and vice versa??

yesssssssssssss.

take a moment and breathe

cable knits and everything awesome. i am in dire need to go shopping. over a span of several, several months i have blindly transformed myself from an edgy, risque, fashion savvy girl to a frumpy working woman, from the strands of my hair to the nails on my toes. i had these awesome bangs, but now i don't. i used to buy all the hot shit, and now i play it safe at j.crew. i used to paint my nails all sorts of colors every week, but now i don't paint them anymore. i used to wear 4 to 5-inch heels to work everyday without missing a step, and now i wear flats, toms, and 2-inch boots.

WHAT'S HAPPENED TO ME?!?!?!???!?!!!!!!

*breathe. another transformation is overdue. but it's not too late... just wait and see.

"stuff"

[Miranda and some assistants are deciding between two similar belts for an outfit, and Andy snickers because she thinks they look exactly the same.]

Miranda Priestly:
Something funny?

Andy Sachs:
No. No, no. Nothing's... You know, it's just that both of those belts look exactly the same to me. You know, I'm still learning about this stuff and, uh...

Miranda Priestly:
This... stuff? Oh. Okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select... I don't know... that lumpy blue sweater, for instance because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not torquoise. It's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent.... wasn't it who showed cerulean military jackets? And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic Casual Corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of 'stuff'.

Mary-Kate Olsen

how do i get waves like Mary-Kate's?!! i asked my hair stylist but he said it was nearly impossible without getting a curlier wave then waiting it out... but i don't want a curlier wave. in my mind, it IS possible. i just have to find the right stylist who's up for the challenge. if i get this done, i'll put in highlights... but not the kind that starts at the roots. and i don't want blonde streaks. i have this perfect image, but everyone i ask is telling me NO. hmph. i'll find a way, even if i have to fly across the Pacific to Korea.

just kidding. who in the right mind would travel all the way over to Korea just for a hair job? ridiculous. but i really want that wave... :(

A&F - now headache free!

Several days ago, there were protesters outside of New York City's Abercrombie & Fitch store, rallying to target the brand's overly fragranced store entrances which gives many passerby-ers a headache. It seems that this message reached out to other A&F stores across the nation, like the one in Seattle on 4th & Pine. I walked by the store earlier today and noticed that their doors were closed during business hours, and there was not a scent of A&F cologne around. It was bizarre. I didn't mind it, to be honest with you. It smelled good... what with the smokers, bums, and druggies around the corner. But something's gotta give...

military parka

it's on my christmas wishlist.
