The year was 1966. Androgynous attire was v. unpopular and it was rare for women to wear pantsuits. Yves Saint Laurent made it happen when she introduced the Le Smoking Tuxedo Suit, the three-piece mannish suit made for women who loved to slick back their hair and seductively smoke cigars in the open light. Since then on, the woman's power suit was born. For this collection, it wouldn't be YSL without a reproduction of the Le Smoking, now would it?
