Dennis Basso Fall 2010 RTW

One word: FUR. This is one designer I would never place under my radar because his collections are a bit more formal. It's kind of like Carolina Herrera. Beautiful work... just not for me. However, his Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection is so grande. So beautiful. So exquisite. So regal. So dramatique. Girl after girl, look after look... there was fur and silk, silk and fur, and my were they gorgeous. This past winter, I wasn't one to be very fond of wearing a fur coat, mostly due to the less than expected cold weather we had. But the idea of wearing a coat my mother would go nuts over was a little discouraging and it was screaming 'bourgeoisie'. I'm still on the fence about whether I would like to don one come next winter (I have an eerie feeling it's going to be much colder than the last), but Basso's coats might be what I needed for that extra nudge to cross over. Hmmmm, we'll see...
